My Order

My Order

I didn′t receive a fulfillment confirmation. What should I do?

You should receive a fulfillment confirmation right after your order. If you didn′t receive such an email it might have one of the following reasons:

  • You have entered a wrong email address.
  • Your spam filter has blocked the confirmation email.
  • Your order has not been completed.
  • Although we have received your order, a technical problem has occurred.

Please check the first two issues. If you can rule out both options, please contact us using this form . Please make sure to name the email address you have used ordering in our shop as well as the approximate time of your order. We will check what might have caused the problem.

I have received a shipment confirmation, but I didn′t get my order yet.

Shipping will be accomplished by DPD and Deutsche Post. If you haven′t received your order after the regular time of delivery (1-3 day) please wait for another 2 days. If the order is still missed, please contact us using this form . We will take the necessary steps.

I have provided a wrong order number on my remittance slip. What should I do?

If you have a customer account , please check your order status there. If the payment is still pending there, please contact our support . To get our feedback as soon as possible please provide the following information in your email:

  • your name
  • the email address used during the order process
  • the correct order number

How does DeinDesign protect my personal data?

Of course, entering your personal data, while ordering in our shop, is safe. DeinDesign™ protects your data using a Thawte SSL 123 certificate with a 256 Bit encryption.

We will only store data required for your transaction. The data can be deleted at a moment's notice by your request. If you have created your own account, you can also delete it any time.

To provide even more transparency, security and guarantee in using our shop and dealing with your personal data, our shop has been tested by "Trusted shops" in more than 100 different quality criteria. Technical problems have occurred during the ordering process. What should I do?

Unfortunately technical problems cannot always be excluded. Ordering with DeinDesign™ works just fine with most browsers. If you have any problems, please delete the cache of your browser and restart the browser once again. In most cases this should help. Here is a short tutorial how to delete your browser cache:

No, you don′t need an account to place your order. However a DesignSkins® account provides several benefits, such as::

How can I register for a customer login?

You can register for your personal customer login while finishing your order.

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your account any time without stating the reasons. Just click on "Delete account" within your user menu. To delete the account for good you have to confirm the process providing your password. Deleting your account, all user data will be lost.

Large-scale Orders and Special Production Items

Whom do I have to contact concerning large-scale orders?

Orders including more than 20 DesignSkins® are defined as large-scale orders. If you want to order more foils please feel free to contact us any time using this form . Our sales department is looking forward providing you a special offer.

Shipping and payment conditions

How much does shipping cost?

Forwarding and packing charges within Europe:

  • 2,95 EUR for DesignSkins® product categories: MP3 player, cell phones, small game pads
  • 4,95 EUR for DesignSkins® product categories: notebooks, big game pads, specials , home & living

How long does it take until I get my order?

In general our products are produced and ready for shipping within 24 hours after receiving your order.Conditions for a fast delivery are:

  • Complete payment receipt on our account (cash in advance and PayPal)
  • Correct order number (reason for transfer) on the money transfer form
  • Complete delivery and billing address
  • Correct email address

Shipping will be accomplished by DPD and Deutsche Post. The regular time of delivery is 1-3 days. We have no bearing on the mail delivery time. You will get a shipping confirmation via email as soon as your order has been send.

My provided delivery address is non-conforming with my registered PayPal address. Which address do you use for shipping?

We always use the address you have provided while ordering in our shop. Your PayPal address won′t be used. You can be sure that your order will be shipped to the right mail box.

Do you also deliver to packing stations?

We deliver a huge part of our DesignSkins® with DPD. For this reason delivery to packing stations is excluded at present.

Payment

I have lost your bank information. Which account should be used for the transfer of money?
An overview of all our excisting bank accounts ordered by invoice country can be found in our imprint .
Which forms of payment do you accept?

We provide the following payment options:

  • Cash in advance via bank transfer
    You remit the invoice amount under specification of your order number within 7 running days to our bank account after receiving the fulfillment confirmation. We will produce your order as soon as the money has been recorded on our bank account.
  • PayPal
    You remit the invoice amount only to our PayPal-account ( paypal@DesignSkins.com ). No further fees will be charged. You only need a free PayPal-account. Registration and information: PayPal.de
  • Credit Card
    Whether Visa or Master Card: in our shop you can pay by credit card.
  • Cash on Delivery
    The amount invoiced hast o be paid on delivery.
    INFO: Please note, that the deliverer collects a local delivery fee of 6,00 EUR + 2,00 EUR transfer fee. Cash on delivery is only available within Germany.
When is the payment via PayPal completed?

The payment via PayPal is completed as soon as the amount invoiced has been booked on our bank account. In general the transfer via PayPal can be completed directly. Subject to the intern PayPal security check the transfer might take a little longer on an individual basis. We have no bearing on the transfer time.

Is it possible to change the payment method ex post?

The ex post modification of the chosen payment method is not possible due to our system.

Guarantee & Exchange

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, you can change your order as long as it is not produced. If you own a user account you can check your order status after logging in.

Do you offer an exchange for damaged DesignSkins®?

Yes, of course. If your DesignSkins® get damaged or have any manufacturing errors, you will get a new DesignSkin in exchange. Please note, that a change of design is not possible.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Yes. If you have ordered DesignSkins® with a shop design, you can cancel it within two weeks without stating any reasons. To make sure the money can be refunded, please add your contact data, the invoice (or a copy) and your bank information to your reshipment. For further information about the legal right of cancellation check our terms and conditions .

Can I exchange DesignSkins® with a customized design?

Yes! We are the only design foil shop that provides a full right to exchange.

I have returned my order. When will my money be refunded to my bank account?

As soon as we get your reshipment, we will check your request and refund the money. The duration of the transfer depends on the involved financial institutions. We have no bearing on the transfer time. In general you will get your money after 2-3 weekdays (transfer within Germany) after your request has been dealed with. Please make sure that you add a short note stating your contact date and your bank information to your reshipment.

What are DesignSkins®?

DesignSkins® foils are individually printed and cut vinyl foils which can be applied directly to all kinds of products.

The design foils are mainly offered for a wide range of electronic products. DesignSkins® cover devices like a second, razor thin skin. They feature special air ducts on the adhesive side which make the skin easy to apply without any bubbles. The high-gloss and anti-abrasion-layer confirms a special protection from ugly scratches for your design and device.

What are DesignSkins® made of?

The intelligent DesignSkins® foil combines excellent attributes. Those attributes enable repeated positioning of the skin on your devices and a bubble-free application due to small air ducts on the adhesive side of the foil. The vinyl foil can be removed without any residues.

Smart attributes of the vinyl foil at a glance:

  • "Slideable Technology" - enables repeated and accurate positioning within the first hour of the application. The glue on the adhesive side will unfold its full impact not until you have pressed on the skin. Before pressing it on the foil is in an abeyance on the device and can be repositioned several times. In case you haven′t found the right position at first just pull of the skin and give it another try.
  • "Bubble Free Technology" - enables easy application without any bubbles. Special air ducts on the adhesive side of the skin build a capillary structure and pipe the air to the outside of the skin. In case there is a bubble on your skin you can easily smooth it out. The bubble will vanish into thin air.
  • "Removeable Effect" - enables a removal without any residues. The special glue doesn′t lose its hold on the printed skin. Even when removing the skin form the device the glue stucks to the bottom side of the design foil. You can easily remove the skin without any residues. Remove the foil carefully and slowly in one piece.
  • "Finishing" - after printing the design on the special vinyl foil it is sealed by a high-gloss and anti-abrasion-layer. By adding this protection layer the colors of your design will be fast and protected from mechanical wear, e.g. by keys and abrasion in your pocket.

Those modern foil technology attributes make the handling of our DesignSkins® pretty easy. They show that a DesignSkin is so much more than just a sticker or a label.

Which color is the foil without my design?

The basic color of the vinyl foil is white, that means is opaque and not transparent. By adding your design the white foil will turn into a printed foil and become a design foil.

How long does a DesignSkin last?

The latest printing technology guarantees that the colors of your design will last for years. The color depths and the brilliance of your design will not fade. That way you can enjoy your DesignSkin over the years.

The lifetime of the skins also depends on the exertions your DesignSkins® are exposed to.

There is a difference between exposing the DesignSkin to permanent abrasion in your pocket (e.g. iPod, mobile phone, handheld) or "normal" aging by outside influences (e.g. notebook, Playstation).

Due to the fact that the design is sealed by a razor thin, transparent protection layer, the DesignSkin is highly prevented from mechanical wear. We commend to handle your device and your DesignSkin with care to tap the full duration of both of them.

Fitting | Removal of the skins

Do I have to send in my device to get a Design?

No, we deliver the chosen design foil. You can easily apply the DesignSkin yourself.

How do I apply the DesignSkins®?

It is blindingly easy. Due to the integrated net structure on the adhesive side of the skins and the special adhesive properties, DesignSkins® can be positioned several times and applied bubble free.

Of course, you′ll also get a step-by-step application guideline with your order. Minding those instructions it is blindingly easy to apply the DesignSkins®.

Can I apply the DesignSkins® without any bubbles?

Yes, it is as simple as that. The modern technology of the foil will help you. Special air ducts on the adhesive side of the skin build a capillary structure and pipe the air to the outside of the skin. In case there is a bubble on your skin you can easily smooth it out. The bubble will vanish into thin air.

Due to that technology everybody can apply DesignSkins® bubble-free.

Can I remove the DesignSkin without any residues?

We do only use materials from brand manufacturers. Our DesignSkins® have been tested for the use on electronic devices. Of course you can remove your DesignSkin anytime without any residues. Just remove the foil carefully and slowly in one piece.

Will customization be covered under my device warranty?

Yes. The application of a DesignSkin will not void a device warranty.

Accuracy of Fit

My foil doesn′t cover the complete device and leaves the outer edge blank. Why′s that?

Due to technical reasons some devices can′t be skinned completely. E.g., some notebook models need a few millimeters more room to the outer edge because the surface is rounded or | and to protect the skin from too much abrasion.

The emerging space is complies with the construction and the surface texture of the device. Of course, we always try to cover as much of the surface as possible, considering the points above. By way of conversation we can guarantee a long lasting design foil and an easy handling of the skin.

You may be certain, that we always measure each device with care and 100% custom-fit.

If your notebook is not listed in our shop, we can offer one of our standard display sizes. These standardized medium sizes fit your notebook in most cases. Different models from one product series may differ. Therefore we can only guarantee the accuracy of fit for the explicit listed model.

No, notebook DesignSkins® just cover the notebook cover. For many models we do also offer design foils for the notebook inlay. They are listed as separate articles.

Why don′t you offer a DesignSkin for the front of my mobile phone?

Since the front doesn′t always qualify for technical reasons, for some mobile phones we do only offer DesignSkins® for the back of the device. If only one side of your mobile phone is shown, we can only offer you a DesignSkin for this side.

My mobile phone looks quite different from the one I see in your shop although the name is the same.

The mobile phone, shown in our shop, is a sample device. Don′t worry. Of course, you′ll get a DesignSkin fitting your chosen device.

General questions concerning devices and products

Will customization be covered under my device warranty?

Yes. The application of a DesignSkin (foil) or a customized case will not void a device warranty. The foils can be removed any time without any residues. Cases can even be removed and replaced to suit your mood.

Can I also buy the devices shown?

No, the images only show how the DesignSkin will look on your device. The listed prices just refer to the offered DesignSkins® not to the devices.

Portfolio Designs

Do you also offer the designs in your shop in other colors?

No, we do only offer our designs in the colors shown in the shop. But some of the designs are available in different colors in the SkinDesigner . With our SkinDesigner you can also create your own designs.

How often do you publish new designs?

We are trying to offer new designs on a regular basis. At the same time we don′t want to overwhelm you. For us it is important to offer unique and stylish designs. That is why we don′t have any update dates.

We are trying to offer new designs on a regular basis.

You can help us expanding our design portfolio. If you are missing a special licensed design in our shop, please send the link to our shop to the license owner. Ask him or her if the design will be available at DesignSkins.com in the future or if you can use the design for your own DesignSkin.

SkinDesigner

Can I design a transparent design foil?

The basic color of our DesignSkins® is white. Even if the transparency of an object will be reduced within the SkinDesigner, the basic color stays the same. Transparency changes only influence the object itself.

However, Can I use images with transparency?

Yes, of course, you can use images with transparency. Please note that the transparent parts of the image will be printed in white or in the background color of the object below.

Why is it not possible to enlarge my image any further?

To guarantee that your design will be printed in the best quality possible you can only scale your images to a certain degree. How far you can enlarge the image depends on its original size.

What can I do, if the image I want to use is too small?

If the image you want to use is too small to fit the size of the device, you can try one of the following choices:

  • Use the Button "Select DesignSkin color" to change the background color of the device.
  • If you own a larger version of your image, please upload this version to the SkinDesigner.

If you use Windows you can check the size of the image by clicking on the file using the right mouse button. Choose "properties"-"file info"-"advanced". You can now see the file size in pixel. If you are using another operating system (MacOS, Linux, …), please use the help function of the system to get further information about the topic.

The resolution of the image I want to use is high enough. The preview in the SkinDesigner looks kind of grainy. Why′s that?

Due to the reduction of the file in the SkinDesigner, the image can appear grainy. Don′t worry. We only use the original data while producing your DesignSkins®. The reduction doesn′t influence the print quality. As a rule of thumb: the higher the resolution of the image, the better the print quality. However there are a few more criteria that influence the quality, such as compression or the quality of your digital camera.

The colors of the image displayed in the SkinDesigner and my image viewer differ. Why′s that?

For technical reasons colors within the SkinDesigner may appear brighter than colors displayed in your image viewer or image editing software. Since we only use your original image data for printing our DesignSkins®, the colors will not be affected. Please note that each screen displays colors in a different way and therefore color variances may appear on the printed product.

Do the colors displayed on screen look exactly like the colors of the ordered DesignSkin?

Can I use PMS or spot colors?

We only print using the CMYK color set. PMS or spot colors cannot be used. If there are spot colors in your image, please change the color mode of the image to CMYK before uploading it to our SkinDesigner.

Voucher campaignes

Where do I have to enter my voucher code?

You can enter your voucher code in the field: "Convert voucher code?" during the last step of the ordering process. By clicking the button "Convert voucher" you voucher code will be activated and charged against your invoice.

My voucher code doesn′t work.

You can enter your voucher code in the field: "Convert voucher code?" during the last step of the ordering process. By clicking the button "Convert voucher" you voucher code will be activated and charged against your invoice.

Please check the following points to make sure that you have entered the voucher code correctly:

  • Case sensitivity
  • There are no spaces before or after the code.
  • The voucher is valid for www.DesignSkins.com and none of the partner websites.
  • The voucher code is still valid (You can find out more about the validation of your voucher code on the voucher itself or the instance you got it from).
  • The voucher hasn′t been converted before.

If our system still doesn′t recognize the voucher code, please contact us and send us the voucher code as well as the amount of the voucher.

If I don′t convert the full amount of the voucher, will there remain a remaining balance on it?

Yes, of course, the remaining balance of your voucher won′t be lost. You can still convert it during your next order. Just enter the voucher code again.

Can I convert 2 vouchers in one order?

No, you can only enter one voucher per order. Our vouchers cannot be combined.
